How to Donate to the Association

Only donate using the details listed below.  Beware of scams.  See the foot of this page for details of one attempted scam.
The Arundel Hills Community Association relies on fund raising events and donations to cover the costs of legal representation and communication efforts for the Arundel Hills community. We are a registered Not for Profit Incorporated Association and are bound by specific obligations in accordance with the Office of Fair Trading (Department of Justice and Attorney-General, Queensland Government).

Your donation, regardless of size, will be gratefully accepted by our committee on behalf of the Arundel Hills community. There are two ways to donate:

1. You can pay directly into our bank account:

Instructions for PayID

PayID is a way of sending a payment to someone using a familiar identity such as a phone number or an email address, without having to know the recipient’s bank details.  Most banks now support PayID and if you use our email address, the funds will be securely sent directly to our bank account.

Most bank websites and mobile apps allow you to pay by PayID.  Each one will operate slightly differently, so the description below might not be exactly how it works with your bank.

Start the process by choosing to make a payment and then indicate that this will be a payment to a new Payee.  When adding a new Payee, you will be asked what mechanism you want to use to identify the Payee.  PayID should be one of those options, specifically PayID by Email.

In some bank systems it might not mention PayID, it might just be By Email.  In others, you might need to choose PayID Other to see a list of different ways that you can identify the Payee and then Email will be one of those.

In all events, when you choose to identify your Payee by email address you will then be asked to enter the email address itself.  Ours is arundelhillsassociation@gmail.com.  The system should respond by showing you the name it holds for that PayID.   It should show up as “ARUNDEL HILLS COMMUNITY ASS INC”.  If you see that, you are safe to continue and enter the amount you want to donate and your reference to complete your payment.  We suggest a reference of “Donation <your name>”.
After you have donated

Please email us arundelhillsassociation@gmail.com with your full name and date of your deposit. We will send you a receipt and thank you for your generous support.
Beware of Scams

We have been informed of someone who is not connected with the Association contacting people in our area seeking to solicit donations.

Whilst we do have fund-raising efforts underway, the conversation, as reported, makes it clear that it was not one of the committee members who made the approach.

Contact was made by phone.  The recipient of the phone call was told that “based on your house value, we would like you to make a donation of $xxxx”.  They were also told that someone would visit their home with a card reader machine in order for the donation to be made.

If you get a phone call which suggests that method of donation, it won’t be from us.

We will only ever ask you to donate by paying directly into our bank account using details on this web site page.  If someone wants to tell you the BSB and Account Number to pay into, they would likely be a scammer too.  The only place to reliably get that information is from this web site.
