Community Meeting 22nd September 2024 |
||
With the court case adjourned, a Temporary Local Planning Instrument published and a Queensland State election approaching, the factors that may affect the proposed development of the Arundel Hills site could not be more complex.
To try to address some of this complexity, the Arundel Hills Association Committee organised a second Town Hall meeting which took place on 22nd September 2024. We were delighted to have our local (Division 7) councillor, Joe Wilkinson at the meeting, together with Mark Hammel, the chair of Gold Coast Council’s planning committee and Sam O’Connor, our state MP. The meeting was a great success with several hundred local residents and interested parties attending. Also in attendance was a koala in the tree right beside the entrance to the meeting, just as there was last time such a meeting was held. Lucky omen or not, it was delightful to have such a pertinent reminder of what we are fighting for. Association member Ian Harvey captured the discussions on video (many thanks to him) and you can see some highlights using the links below. Opening remarks by the main speakers (15m 26s) |
